Dangerous Women tells the story of a group of women convicts who are travelling to a new life in Australia aboard the ship The Rajah. Each woman has their own story to tell and secrets to hide. The book mixes some historical fact with fiction which makes it even more interesting. At first, the women find it hard to adjust to life on the ship and being kept down in the dark hold of the ship in their quarters. Their matron, Miss Haiter get some of the ladies who can sew to embark on a project making a quilt during the journey to be given as a gift to the Ladies Guild who have provided the materials for the project. As they work on the project, deep friendships develop between this group of women. However, as the ladies settle into a routine, a tragic event changes everything for all on the ship.
There is a murder! Everyone is a suspect and the women begin to mistrust each other . Can Miss Haiter and the captain of the ship find out who the killer is before they dock in Australia? Secrets will be revealed, friendships torn apart and new alliances formed.
I highly recommend this book to anyone who enjoys historical fiction and mysteries.
