When orphaned Lewis Barnavelt comes to live with his Uncle Jonathan, he is amazed to find out there is a wizard in his family!

10 year old Lewis had been living a perfectly ordinary life with his parents until they were suddenly killed in a car accident.  He is sent to live with his Uncle Jonathan in the town of New Zebedee. Upon his arrival at 100 High Street, his new home, Lewis begins to discover all sorts of wild, mysterious and wonderful things going on within its walls, including magic spells and evil plans to destroy the world.

Thus begins a fabulously haunting adventure for Lewis, Uncle Jonathan and their neighbour Mrs. Zimmerman. Will the find the clock and save the world?  The House with a Clock in its Walls is a fabulously well-written tale that has something that will appeal to readers of all ages: action, magic, spooky car chases and spirits raised from the grave.  Lewis is an unlikely hero who will tug at your heartstrings and pull the reader into the story with him. A fantastic read for children and adults alike.
